Ever-since I was a baby, I met my first cat, who Mum bought way before I was born. Her name was Frisky. I used to play with her all the time, even-though she didn’t quite enjoyed it. I used to say funny noises to Frisky. One was a question, which she always answered with a normal “Meow”. The other was when I started to pick her up and she did a stammering “Meow”, which I thought was her saying “Aley-Oup!”. The second other was when I, quote, unquote, ‘feed’ her with nothing in particular in my hand.
Here’s a fun fact: Frisky had a white moustache!
Sadly, Frisky died in 2012. And I felt lonely without a cat. Until, in 2014, I got two new kittens for my birthday! I named the girl: Mini (after a type of car) and my sister; Katie named the boy: Catford.
We were happy to have those two, until one year later, Mini got hit by a car. Catford and I were very depressed, but we eventually carried on. Mini was bouncy and mewy while Catford is mature and independent. He has the intelligence of us humans like being alerted when there is a car coming.
Here's a fun fact: Catford has a black star on the end of his face!
Catford was our remaining cat for 3 whole years. Until in 2019, Mum bought him a brother from an animal rescue centre. His name is Benny! And he is different from Frisky, Mini and Catford (who are black and white). He’s a tiger cat! He is a sort of orange-ish yellow with white-ish brown stripes on his back and head.
Here is a fun fact: Benny looks up to his idol, who is actually his brother; Catford! And also, Benny is very keen to be carried around.
So my family may have two cats again until Catford died in 2024, but in the future, Catford 2 might come and, maybe, live with me!
NOW, let's get to my keen opinion on cats! Cats are my favourite animals. I love the house ones best. But I also like the WILD CATS! The lions are my favourite because the lion is the king of the jungle. And also, the lions are the only cats with clear gender dimorphism. Because the other lion, called a lioness (the queen of the jungle), hasn’t got a mane like the male one. So it’s easy enough to tell which one is the boy and which one is the girl. (Unless they're cubs.)
I also like the jaguar, the cheetah, the leopard, the panther, and last but not least, the TIGER! The biggest of them all!!
As cubs, these cats make a rather ‘wheezy-meaow’. But when they get older, they (you guessed it) “ROAR!!!”
And here is my drawing of all types of cats.
