Making my website

It all started when James (and some other people) had the idea of making me have my own website! And I was like, ‘Sure! Why not?’!

I wanted my website to look real professional, so we researched and looked at other illustrators’ websites, such as Quentin Blake, Dav Pilkey and Dr Suess. I even looked at E. H. Shepard as well, even-though he doesn’t have a website because he was around between 1879 and 1976 and the internet was created in 1983. Anyway, we looked at each of their illustrations, pages and features on their websites. We took a few inspirations from their websites like an artist profile, a portfolio, a blog and a downloadable free comic.

To build the website, we searched through how to make one and we used ‘Squarespace’ to build it. James helped, and showed me what he was doing. I did the writing for each page and explained things, explained words and gave information about the artwork and the photographs.

For my new website, I did a new drawing for each of the pages. I started out with one for the ‘Artist Profile’. We had been watching Quentin Blake doing his illustrations at his desk on his website, so I drew the ‘Artist Profile’ image of me drawing a scene for my movie trailer. I look proud. I did 6 drawings for 6 pages, each. I had some inspirations for the Contact page from the Winnie-The-Pooh website.

On my website, I have got old photographs and drawings, all the way to new ones. The old ones were quite good memories. I also have a blog page! And you’re reading it. My blogs are about the things I am interested in and what I like about them, such as trains and cats.

How do I feel about my website? I feel proud of it! My family were so impressed with me. I would love to share it with my friends, as well. Now, if I get anyone's attention to it, they would be amazed and impressed.
